HI, I'M ANGELA
I'm a multi award winning family photographer, with over 20 years’ experience in portrait photography. I offer a boutique family photography service, specialising in maternity and baby portraiture.
My warm and cosy home-based studio is in Tawa, just 10 minutes north of Wellington CBD.
I am proud to be an APNPI (Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers’ International) Qualified Newborn Photographer, which means not only do I have the photographic skills, knowledge and experience needed to photograph very young babies, but you can rest easy knowing your precious little person is photographed in the safest ways possible with strict hygiene practices.
I’m also a busy Mum of two (Rosie & Riley) so I know just how precious and crazy and fleeting these early days are! My passion and my dream is to capture these most special memories of your own family to cherish for many years to come!
I am so excited you are considering me to be a part of your family's journey...it would be my honour to capture this amazing chapter of your story!
“I want to create emotive portraits that capture and celebrate your journey into parenthood, your baby's first year...and beyond!”
The studio has an ever-growing range of clothing available for your session. The wardrobe is made up clothing in soft, calming and neutral and pastel tones, so the focus remains on you, not what you wear.
Hair + Makeup
Angela works with a selection of Wellington's best professional mobile makeup artists to ensure you look your best and feel confident in front of the camera.
Rustic wooden props, organic wooly layers, textured wraps and vintage inspired rompers are sourced locally and internationally for your session.
Matted fine art prints, solid wood frames, quality canvases and beautiful albums are all available to purchase, as well as your digital files for archiving. Leave the studio with your precious memories preserved forever, to be handed down for generations to come.
Rest assured I take my job working with these precious little people very seriously - I am fully vaccinated as per the Ministry of Health's Immunisation Schedule, plus I keep up to date with my Whooping Cough and Influenza Vaccinations as needed. I also hold a current NZQA First Aid Certificate for Young Children.
Posing a newborn is an art, and I take pride in my knowledge of newborns and handling baby safely at all times. Posing takes time and you cannot rush. I will gently attempt each pose with your baby - but at the end of the day, they are the boss and will let me know if they do not want to be posed a certain way. If this is the case, I will move on to the next pose. I will never ever force a baby into a pose just to get "the shot".
There are certain poses your baby will always be supported in by either myself or my assistant, and it is only through the magic of Photoshop that these poses can be achieved safely.
If you have any questions about baby safety - I encourage you to ask! I want you to feel 100% confident in your choice of a newborn photographer!
