Spring in Wellington is a magical time for family photography – the crisp air, the soft golden light, and of course, the pretty apple blossoms that make everything feel like a dream. When Kez reached out for a family session, we knew we had to take advantage of gorgeous spring weather in a lovely park right here in Tawa.
Kez and Josh arrived with kiddos Lucas, Elsie and little bubby Roman, ready to capture some special moments together. Big brother Lucas, brought a relaxed and cool energy to the session, while toddler Elsie was a bit more reserved at first, taking her time to warm up to the camera. But once she did, we caught some adorable moments – from shy smiles to curious glances at the blossoms around her. And Roman, well he just cuddled up in Mum's arms enjoying some new sights and surroundings.
One of my favourite things about outdoor family sessions is the way kids get to just be themselves. Lucas was happy to go along with things, enjoying the scenery and occasional goofiness, while Elsie observed everything carefully before joining in. Capturing these natural, unposed moments is what makes family photography feel so authentic – letting personalities shine through without forcing anything.
Outdoor family photography in Tawa is always a treat, but springtime sessions have a little extra magic. Kez and her family now have a collection of photos that reflect this season in their lives – a mix of quiet moments, laughter, and everything in between.
Thinking about your own family session? Whether it’s under the blossoms in spring or a golden-hour shoot in summer, I’d love to capture those memories for you. Get in touch to book your session – let’s create something beautiful together!
