Preparing for your Christmas session

This year's set is "Winter Wonderland" - and all white set, with digital elements added in post production.

  • Bold cheerful Christmassy colours like red and green will work best on this set. White will be ok, but you won't stand out much.
  • The studio will provide accessories like Santa hats, reindeer antlers, a sled etc.
  • It’s a good idea to dress everyone being photographed in similar tones or colours. Christmas T-shirts jumpers and PJs are super fun and easily available at places like the Warehouse, Kmart or online stores like Christmas Jumpers NZ (
  • Christmas sessions are fast paced portrait fun! Please make sure your family is dressed and ready to go upon arrival as sessions are booked back to back.
  • Bring along wet wipes for last minute face cleans for the littler ones
  • It's a good idea to have kids with long hair wearing hair clips, pony tails or headbands so hair doesn't keep getting in their face. Bring a hair brush to smooth out last minute fliaways.
  • Please remember the finer details! Skin blemishes can be easily retouched but requests to alter wardrobe, makeup, nails or hair will be sent to an editor to correct and there will be additional charges for's better to get it right in real life than fix it in Photoshop!

the day of the session

When it comes to little ones, the happier they are, the smoother the session will run!

Try to make sure your little person has had a good nap (if required) and feed just before the session begins, so they're not tired, cranky or hungry during the session

Happy children = more photos.
